A Queens base with specific Manhattan connections

Should you stay here or visit for the day?

When a stay makes sense

Compare rooms near the subway connection that suits your itinerary. Use MoMA PS1 and the waterfront as local visits rather than assuming every hotel overlooks Manhattan.

When to compare another base

A lower room quote is useful only after checking the total and the journeys you will make. The waterfront and Court Square are different locations.

Plan the main visit before buying tickets

Start with the venue’s own visitor page. Check the date, admission or tour, accessibility and cancellation terms. Free public spaces can be part of the day without a paid tour.

A practical plan for this area

Build a Long Island City visit around MoMA PS1, with a separate meal nearby. Compare a hotel near your useful subway connection rather than choosing solely for a Manhattan skyline view. Keep a waterfront extension optional so an exhibition visit does not become a rushed cross-city day.

Choose your stops

Getting there and back

MoMA PS1 is at 22-25 Jackson Avenue. Court Square–23rd Street and other nearby stations offer different approaches; use the museum directions to choose your route. Check the final hotel walk for the return after dinner.

Before you book

MoMA PS1 is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and currently offers free general admission. Reserve or check the current exhibition before travelling. Strollers must be parked outside the galleries; the museum provides stroller parking.

If plans change

On closure days, compare the Astoria museum plan and check its own opening calendar first. Do not assume MoMA in Manhattan and MoMA PS1 in Queens share the same hours or admission arrangements.
