When a stay makes sense
Compare this base when your itinerary mixes Midtown sights with downtown meals. Choose the hotel block for the journeys you will repeat, rather than assuming every NoMad address has the same connections.
When to compare another base
An Empire State Building visit alone does not require a nearby hotel. A theatre-led trip may work better farther north; a Village-led trip may work better farther south.

A practical plan for this area
Plan a NoMad and Flatiron day around an Empire State Building visit, Madison Square Park and a nearby meal. Choose the observation-deck experience first, then keep the neighborhood walk flexible. A hotel here is worth comparing when the wider trip mixes Midtown and downtown.

Getting there and back
Use the Empire State Building visitor entrance at 20 West 34th Street for the observation-deck visit. Save your hotel address separately: NoMad and the Flatiron plazas cover several blocks south of the building. Check the route for luggage and the return after dinner.
Before you book
Compare the 86th-floor and 102nd-floor ticket options before paying; access differs by ticket. Check the date, time, final charges and ticket-change terms on the operator page. The Flatiron building exterior and neighborhood plazas do not require an observation-deck ticket.
If plans change
If cloud or poor visibility would spoil the main reason for the deck visit, review your ticket-change options before travelling. Keep a meal and a shorter neighborhood walk as separate choices instead of buying a second view ticket automatically.
